Submitted by Nancy Cioch

The first Snell-Timmerman Reunion was held at Klock Park, St. Johnsville, N. Y. on August 28, 1938. A business meeting was held which was presided over by Ralph Ehle. The temporary secretary was Emma Timerman. The committee on nominations consisted of Clarence Timmerman, Howard Snell and Corliss Timmerman. The following officers whom they chose were elected:

President - Charles Snell, Fort Plain, N. Y.
Vice Presidents - Mrs. Martha W. Wagner, Kenmore, N.Y.
Ralph Ehle, Little Falls, N.Y.
Levi Timmerman, Clockville, N.Y.
Secretary-Treasurer - Emma Timerman, Little Falls, N. Y.
Historian - Mrs. Albro Holmes, Johnstown, N. Y.

The collection amounted to $19.81 of which $7.50 was paid to L. D. McWethy for three hundred post-cards and printing. That left $12.31, which was placed in the interest department of the Herkimer County Trust Company in account with the Snell-Timmerman Reunion.

The speaker of the occasion was L. D. McWethy of St. Johnsville through whose efforts as historian of the Mohawk Valley, the thought of this reunion had come about. He spoke briefly on the causes of Palatine migrations.

Over one hundred twenty guests were registered, about one fourth of whom came from Tonawanda and vicinity in a chartered bus. The guests who came the greatest distance were Prof. Orvie E. Baker and wife Helen Dow Baker, both of whom are members of the faculty of the Hardin-Simmons University of Abilene, Texas.

A petition was prepared and signed requesting that the Snells Bush Church be preserved for religious services. This was forwarded to Rev. R. C. Van Zoren of Hagaman, clerk of the Montgomery Classis.

A closing prayer was offered by Rev. A. Davy of St. Johnsville.

The next meeting will be held at Klock Park, St. Johnsville, on the last Sunday of August nineteen hundred thirty-nine.
