Carolyn was the daughter of Clarence H Timmerman and
Bertha Rahm Timmerman was born at the ancestral farm home on March 13, 1912
in Snells Bush across the road from Snells Bush Church. Carolyn and her
brother Melvin Timmerman who was born August 14,1909 and died November 2,
2002, both grew up on the home farm. Melvin ran the farm with his wife the
late Thelma Wood Timmerman. Carolyn graduated from Little Falls High School
in 1930 and went on to graduate from Albany Business College. Carolyn married
Jess V Sidenius on September 8, 1935 in Little Falls and they have a surviing
son Karl and three grandchildren Christopher Sidenius, Erik Sidenius and
Jessica Sidenius Rowe.
Carolyn was 95 years old and during her lifetime she worked very hard to
collect all the data and to write the following genealogy books:
Descendants of Lawrence Timmerman-published in 1998
Descendants of David Timmerman--- published in 1994
Descendants of Lt Henry Timmerman--- published in 1988
Descendants of George Timmerman--- published in 1995
Descendants of Peter And Anna Kilts Snell--- published in 1992
Fifty Years With The Faith of Our Fathers- published in 1988 with Edith
Timmerman
These books have helped many SZT members discover their roots back to the
Mohawk Valley. These books also tell the story of the early Palatines that
came from Germany in 1700 's; their struggle to create a new homes in the
wilderness; defend their homes against Indians; and to defend their homes
and fight for freedom in the Revolutionary War; and the wars through out
our history of our great county. Our heritage is the story of the development
of our great nation and by writing these books Carolyn has done a great
service to our reunion and all of the SZT family members both now and in
the future. During the years following these publications, Carolyn was continuously
making corrections and additions to these genealogy books. She also maintained
a file of everyone that was related to the patentees Johan Jost Snell and
Jacob Timmerman- listing each person' s genealogy on the back of a 3 x5
card with name and address on the front of the card. This file is very useful
for members that are researching their genealogy lines and any questions
that need to be answered. We will miss her very much. Nancy Timmerman Cioch
and Sarah Timmerman Israel were asked by Carolyn to keep this work going
and we are doing our best but there is much to do in researching everything.
Carolyn was working right up till she died and this work needs to be continued.
