Born 1823 per 1850 and 1855 census, but gravestone was read as 1826. Benjamin's first wife, Maria, died on 21 March 1823, when Jacob was born. However, if Jacob was born in 1826, then his mother would be Benjamin's second wife.
Moved to Kanona, Steuben, New York about 1861.
Jacob married Emily Kilts, daughter of Lewis Kilts and Maria Kilts, on 6 Sep 1846. (Emily Kilts was born on 20 Mar 1820, died in 1899 and was buried in Avoca, Steuben, New York, United States.)
